Hi,

Im trying to decide between the Michelin Primacy MXV4 or the
Continental ProConact Ecoplus for my 2006 Hyundai Elantra GLS.
My size is 195/60/15.

I am a conservative driver who is more concerned about ride comfort, low noise and long tread life, as opposed to performance and handling.

The guys at Tire Rack told me to save some money and go with
the Conti ProConact Ecoplus, as this tire is a great choice
for the general commuter who wants comfort and great wet traction.

They tell me this newer Continental Ecoplus line is a MUCH
better tire than the standard Continental ProContact that
is the OEM tire for many cars.

This tire won 1st place in Tire Rack's test of the best
Low Rolling Resistance tires.

Any thoughts on this tire?

Thanks

I am old enough to have bought many tires in my life, all sorts of brands. I am of the belief that tires are a false economy and trying to save a few bucks on tires in the long run gets you nothing but aggravation. With that being said, as a whole I have found Michelin and Bridgestone to be the most consistent brands. I'm much more inclined to buy the proven Michelin tires than the Conti's.

We have the Eco Plus and do wonders for the '08 YARIS sedan . Very good wet traction , better ride , quiter , and improved handling . As for F.E. , the gas mileage remains the same as with the Bridgestone Potenza RE 92s that came with it . There's less than 7,000 miles on them . Can't go wrong at $89 each .

Seems like the Conti EcoPlus may prove to be the more smoother,
comfortable tire, over the life of the tire.
