They were just talking about him the other day on the radio, I didn't realize he was that sick. RIP Roger Ebert!

Well put. I'll always remember looking forward to "At the Movies" to help me decide what movies to see for the upcoming weekend or holiday. RIP

I recall that show. Never much agreed with those two but found the opinions somewhat entertaining. I really don't see what the big deal is with him passing....unless you are family, of course.

Probably cause he was sincere and loved reviewing movies. Hollywood studios would hype a movie...only for Siskel & Ebert to say it sucked.

He fought a tough battle with cancer over the years, may he rest in peace.

Ebert on "The Village" (2004):

To call it an anticlimax would be an insult not only to climaxes but to prefixes.

Originally I wasn't going to bother seeing Bill Murray and Dan Aykroyd in "Ghostbusters" in 1984. Then I caught his review, which was very positive. He characterized the humor as "sly," not a word you'd hear/read often in connection with movies, and so I gave it a shot. Very glad I didn't miss out on a classic!
