Rocker panels disappearing

You didn’t read my post above. I don’t track my neighbors’ car washing habits. But assuming it was neglected and not washed like you said, this thing would’ve had rusted out just about everywhere and been dust by now.

I read your post carefully. Are you suggesting that this car has not "rusted out everywhere" ? I have two cars well past two decades old in the driveway, both exposed to the elements without any rust. As others have mentioned, this car is rusted to the point where it's structural integrity and safety is compromised. It is not a tiny or trivial amount of rust. It is roughly four 8"by 8" holes, completely rusted through the unibody. We don't know what is underneath. Best wishes.
