Road trip with only Bucees diesel fuel.

Fill up and calculate mileage when you reach the end of each leg of this trip.
Also, fill up when you leave on the next leg.
We want highway mileage and local mileage.
Could be super interesting.
Travel safe.

My opinion, if you're looking for fresh diesel, Loves/Pilots (IE Truck Stops) over Bucees.

Reason being that those other places cater to big rigs so they're running a lot more diesel than the rodent likely is. Bucees doesn't allow big trucks. Sure they'll probably have plenty of diesel flowing through just from RV'ers and other trucks, just not as much as the other places that cater to big rigs that load hundreds of gallons at a time.
RV crowd and others that tow - hits our Buc’s pretty hard bcs of def at the pumps and with a hundred pumps they can find pass through lanes away from the bunch getting fuel close to the store …
No class 8 rigs in the way (not allowed) …
They can then continue around the back where the Tesla chargers are and exit easily … It’s fresh either way …

Sounds like a great idea. I'll do that.

Shell also tends to be high quality. Stations right off the interstate will likely be high volume so I wouldn't sweat it. The only downside is that fuel stations right off the highway tend to be a little higher as most don't want to venture too far off to find cheaper fuel.
The Shell stations in Goleta and Santa Barbara carry R-99 renewable diesel which right now we have 2 trucks down with CP4 failures after using it. Currently waiting ti figure out who will pay for the repair since the R-99 isn't Ford approved. I fill my diesel usually at a Shell farther north in Buellton since they at least carried #2 until a couple months ago and now have B20 at over a dollar a gallon less than stations here.

Bucees everywhere is a dumpster fire to get in and out of - especially in tourist season. I think it took me 15 minutes to get to the pump at Bucees in St. Augustine. The one on 95 in SC is better but not great. So I now avoid bucees like the plague when I am trying to make time. I drive around the Southeast for work.

Not saying anything negative about the store itself - there very nice.

I agree that Pilot / Loves is your best bet for ease, high volume Diesel, and full services while travelling. Too bad there not top tier, but i have stopped often anyway. Stick to the ones in more rural areas for in and out speed.

Hint - if you really want to make time - plan your trip on google maps - every stop.

I've read write ups and seen pictures. They look like grand examples of stores which sell very few things I want.
Junk food and drink and tubs and tubs full of.....MiCSYDoN Made in China Stuff You Don't Need.
Tubs of plush toys at a gas station, really?
Lots of stores are that way as far as I'm concerned.

There trying to recreate "South of the Border" - if your familiar. They just need a amusement ride out front. Fun Fact, Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke worked at South of the Border as a kid.

In fairness I had one of their salads and it was acceptable compared to other stuff you can get on the road. The BBQ sandwich was the most over-rated thing I have ever eaten I think.

I do give them credit also for paying there staff well, so I wish them success. Just not my kind of place when I am in a rush.
