After crunching the numbers, it will cost me less to purchase generic gasoline from high-volume stations and add RLI Bio-Plus cleaner at 1 oz/10 gal than to purchase top-tier fuel. With this new combination, I can actually save $10/mo! In theory, generic gas + RLI Bio-Plus should result in a fuel that has significantly better cleaning capabilities, right? Is anyone here using RLI's fuel injector cleaner? Also, any analysis of how RLI Bio-Plus Fuel Injector cleaner compares to LCD's FP Plus product?

What theory is that? And significantly better than what? I would be very, very surprised if anyone here had the time, resources, and know-how to conduct the kinds of tests that would validate such a claim.

+1. You need to look at the studies where people have looked at how many mg/L of detergents there are in fuel, cross it with the EPA/CA mandates, and then determine the concentration of detergent in the RLI to find a treat rate and discern what is better...

Do we know what the active ingredients in RLI's product are? Obviously PEA is the one you want, and with Regane, Techron Concentrate, and Redline SI-1 being available just about everywhere for $6 or less, I fail to see what advantage this product has. (in fact, Redline's is a UCL too)

y recollection was that Terry and RI_RS4 both recommended the product for its capability of maintaining fuel system cleanliness better than top tier fuel alone?

Yes. In other words, Top Tier + Bio-Plus is better than Top Tier alone. But if I'm not mistaken, you were asking about generic fuel + Bio-Plus vs. Top Tier alone. That's a different question, no?

Sorry, forgot to reply to this post. Yes, I was asking about generic fuel + Bio-Plus.

Again, highly doubt that there is a real "cleanliness" metric. Go back to the regulations of how many mg/L of detergent there is by law and by top tier, then figure out how much additive 1oz brings to your gas tank.
