Jimmy Carter spent his childhood on a peanut farm and returned there after serving in the Navy.

I had a six-pack of Billy Beer for a while. Finally cracked one open and it was the most gawd awful stuff. His brother's humanitarianism, however, was superb. Godspeed Mr. President.

How old was it? Any beer in a can is going to get skunky after a few years. I heard it was a pretty run of the mill American adjunct lager. More or less inoffensive and easy to drink when relatively fresh.

Jimmy Carter was a Navy Submariner, as I am (23 years.) I was on the USS Connecticut (SSN-22), the second Seawolf submarine. The USS Jimmy Carter (SSN-23) was the third and final of the class. Once I retired, I went to work for United Water in Glynn County, GA. I was the Project Manager and had O&M over the water and sewer where President Carter had a vacation home. One day, we had to cut water to part of the island where his home was lcoated, and we got a very polite call from him, verifying the water would be back on prior to the weekend. I didn't believe my Admin assistant at first, but, alas, it was true!

As others stated, not my favorite President, but I believe he was an honorable man. RIP President Carter! Fair winds and following seas.
