Yup. A friend of a friend was at the event where this happened. He was in a new to him red Porsche Carrera GT.

What a shame... When will people stop racing on city streets I guess the answer is never.

I get the feeling they weren't racing. One of the witnesses said the car might have been on fire before it crashed, so maybe a mechanical failure caused the accident.

It was a single-car accident.

Not so sure, business park area doesn't look like a high-speed road by any means.
According to the Sheriff's department they believe the driver lost control and then subsequently hit a light pole..

It's a shame really he seemed like a great spirit.

Okay I guess I should have said "race around on city streets"

Although he wasn't the greatest actor, I still really liked this guy from the beginning. You could tell he was just a regular, laid back Californian dude. I've loved the F&F franchise since I saw the first one back in theaters in 2001. It's really weird because this afternoon, I had the urge to watch a bunch of his interviews on YouTube. I also watched "Joy Ride," which is a great movie, afterwards. Eerie. RIP dude.

He was a good Samaritan and seemed to have a good personality. It's terrible that happend and being the passenger he had no control over the accident. My sympathies go out to the friends and family of Paul and the driver.
RIP Paul Walker.

Pretty sad. Speed kills, especially when being stupid on city streets. Thank God a innocent family wasn't involved. Rip Paul, definitely enjoyed your movies.

Very unfortunate. Based on the circumstances, I am also glad that any innocent bystanders were not harmed.

So many times, gear heads get together, in this case to do some good at an event to raise money for typhoon victims, and a few "spirited" drives take place to have some fun. Anybody who has a fast car has taken a friend for a drive and unwound it a bit. This time it ended in the worst possible way and that's a tragedy.

It seemed he was a good guy, a true enthusiast, who used his status to give back some. Again, this whole thing played out at an event hosted by his charity to raise money for typhoon victims. The world needs people who give a little more, especially in someplace as a trivial as Hollywood.

My sympathies go out to his friends and family, especially his daughter.
