RIP Larry McClure

Just read Larry McClure passed away… his Kodak #4 was a rocket at Daytona and Talladega back in the 90s. One of NASCAR's legends for sure.

That name doesn't ring a bell, did he race with a bog team?

He was owner of Morgan-McClure Racing which won Daytona in 1991 with Ernie Ervin and 1994 & 1995 with Sterling Marlin

We had a Kodak affiliated minilab 1 hour store (remember paper photos??) back then and I was into NASCAR. We brought in a KODAK race car as a promotion and had 500 people show up over the 4 hours it was there. This in a town less than 10,000. The car we got had raced at Watkins Glen a week or two before and all they did was wash it and take out the race motor and put in a mildly built 350. The car handler was great, he let kids sit in the seat. We stopped at Morgan-McClure Racing at Abingdon Va one time when we were coming by but unfortunately they were closed. Good times. NASCAR sure was different then.
