I think his "contribution" to rock will be analyzed for years. He taught 1000's basic chord structures, when to play a lead, and when to play rhythm. He also taught us, being musicians and self included, most importantly timing. He started the basis at that time of all song writing....intro/verse/verse/chorus/verse/lead or key change/chorus/end. After that time, those patterns started changing in the 70's with bands like Rush and Yes for example. BUT, they couldn't have happened without Chuck laying the ground work. He will be admired, appreciated and studied for years to come.
