Guys,

I have some Castrol High Mileage 5W30 I was going to use to do the rinse on my wife's Outback. Would this be an OK oil to use, as it'll be needing that weight around the change time?

Thanks,

John

That's what I thought I remembered reading. I'll save it for another time.

Thanks,

John

I believe that dino Castrol GTX oil does not contain ester. That's what I'm using right now and just hit 1100 miles on my 1st Auto-rx treatment.

This is on the auto rx stuff or just as a maintenance?

IMO I think everyone should do a rinse flush once and awhile. Just pour the oil in, run a short trip or a good outage with the family or the pet or just to cruze, then return and drain, perhaps placing a few ounces of a cleaner the last 50 miles of say a 200 mile trip, and drain....

Are you talking about an AutoRX rinse?

No! Castrol HM is not expensive enough, use Amsoil or Mobil 1.
If your just going to rinse and drain, why use not use a cheap dino oil for $1 per quart?
