They did something, after 2 or 3 years, revising the transmission gears slightly. Otherwise... no, I don't think it got an update. I guess when they saw sales tank they wanted to do as little as possible?

Shame. I liked the idea, might have gone for one if it had better mpg's. 18-20mpg was a better than most full sizes at the time (real world mpg's) but not spectacular. The trunk was a nice idea, until you used the bed...

IMO it needed at least a 4L engine, it might even get slightly better mpg (less downshifting). But I'm not sure their transmission tech was up to it.
 
Honda NEVER had a truck in the states. It was a unibody car with a bed on it. Bout time they kill off that pos

considering how most trucks are actually used, a unibody truck probably makes sense...

I think I've seen like 3 Ridgelines in my life. Those things are like bigfoot or something. Not a big surprise it's going away for a while.
 
POS? There are owners with 300k+ on the Ridgeline forums.

Just because it can't tow like a fullsize, doesn't mean it's a POS.
 
It had the infamous AT. IT LACKED true low range 4WD it was just an all wheel drive setup. it had like 900lbs cargo capacity.
It was Honda's FAILED attempt at a truck
 
Honda does need the time to rethink the Ridgeline. Why go with that versus a V6, half ton, full frame truck? It simply doesn't make sense now given the competitive, more capable trucks available with similar efficiency

I'm kind of surprised by that. I see a fair number of Avalanches. They seem pretty popular in the Southeast, maybe not elsewhere. Seems like an easy enough model to keep around too.

You act as if Honda was trying to make a half ton and failed.

I think that's the problem. The Ridgeline is only rated for 21 MPG highway. Many full size trucks currently do better, even with a crew cab. The Ridgeline might be a harder sell now when compared to an 3.7 or EcoBoost F-150, V6 Ram, V6 GM, etc.

I'm not sure what you're talking about, but there are very few reports of transmission issues with the Ridgeline, all of the independent data show it's quite reliable. The payload capacity is 1,500 lbs. "true low 4WD"? Most trucks never see off-road.

It's not the truck for you. That's fine. Making up stuff because you don't like it and saying it's a "POS". Why do people insist on doing this? Serious question.

Most trucks are driven exclusively on paved roads and carry small loads. That's reality. I think those folks would be better off with a station wagon, but some folks prefer trucks. If they want to pay to put gas in them, that's their choice. If someone uses their truck to haul really heavy loads, tow a ton of stuff or drive off-road a lot, they should probably consider another truck.
 
I think Honda would be very successful with a conventional pickup truck. Something along the lines of the 2006 and older Tundra. I'd certainly take a long look at one if available. The Ridgeline turned out to be some kind of girly-man vehicle.
 
Honda just missed the market. It should have been a reg cab and/or X cab and decontented to be $24,000-25,000. Hope Honda tries again.
