While at first I must admit, I was a bit shocked when I heard that Rousey was knocked out, but after I had a few minutes to think about it, I realized it's just the natural order of this sport (along with boxing). Even the greatest fighters eventually get beat. Very, very few of them make it through their entire careers without eventually losing. Rousey is no exception.

I know there are people who don't like her because she's cocky and are glad she lost. Regardless of what people think of her, if she announced her retirement today, she'd go down as the greatest female UFC fighter of all time. Besides, how many great champions weren't big headed? Look at Floyd Mayweather for example. He's so full of himself that if someone poked him with a pin, he'd burst like a water balloon.

As interesting as this fight was, I'm actually more interested in the inevitable rematch. That will tell us if Rousey simply overlooked Holms, or if her career has run its course...

I don't like seeing women bloody and fighting. Although, I think they are both great examples for women to show how empowered and independent they can be. Rousey had taken on an air of invincibility that maybe she started to believe herself.

RR had been quite public and quoted often in public media. I think she may have gotten a bit full of herself and not been as ready as her fans deserved...

She was getting too big for her britches, so her bosses finally decided to put her against someone who could beat her.

Ronda Rousey's face was bloody at the end of the first round, which tells you something. Holm was very, very good.

Fixed like every other fight game, its all about the $$$$.

I noticed Dana White did not look took happy after the fight. I do enjoy UFC, I started watching around when it was still a bloodsport when I was 10, I remember telling my mom it was like WWF but not fixed so she let me watch whenever I wanted.

When there was no weight classes. Those guys had brass ones. I watched all of them.

Why would Dana White be mad. Her losing is going to sell even more PPVs for the rematch. RR beating everyone up in the first round was getting pretty boring. Boring cost you money.

We will find out if there's a rematch...

...and/or Rousey simply didn't take Holms seriously and just flat overlooked her...

And Trav snaps everyone back to reality!

Not a fan of any of this type of brutal pounding. But when I see the females doing it to each other, it makes me cringe. I guess in my mind, a woman pummeling the face of another woman just doesn't compute.

But hey....if that's what they want to do...ok.

If these women were not cage fighting.... they would probably be working at a Walmart. Just kidding.

If they can make good $$$ for a few years, they are similar to NFL player with a 3-4 year pro career.
