While at first I must admit, I was a bit shocked when I heard that Rousey was knocked out, but after I had a few minutes to think about it, I realized it's just the natural order of this sport (along with boxing). Even the greatest fighters eventually get beat. Very, very few of them make it through their entire careers without eventually losing. Rousey is no exception.
I know there are people who don't like her because she's cocky and are glad she lost. Regardless of what people think of her, if she announced her retirement today, she'd go down as the greatest female UFC fighter of all time. Besides, how many great champions weren't big headed? Look at Floyd Mayweather for example. He's so full of himself that if someone poked him with a pin, he'd burst like a water balloon.
As interesting as this fight was, I'm actually more interested in the inevitable rematch. That will tell us if Rousey simply overlooked Holms, or if her career has run its course...
