So I sought no new adventures today as a summer cold is kicking my rear end. Wifey came home this afternoon to find me on the couch with a bottle of Johnny Walker in a desperate effort to kill whatever it is that has moved into my lungs and head. Violent coughing, heavy sweating, in a word, misery.

She raids the medicine cabinet and pulls out an inhaler, some steroids, some pills for coughing, and some kind of antibiotic, all a combination from previous sickness that have floated around our house in the past two years.

I take them all - now the coughing is gone and I feel better except I'm on fire and feel like I could run around the block ten times and not even be winded. I swear I've seen a cat in our living room - and we don't own a cat.

I'm thinking it's going to be a long but interesting night.

I'm hoping you don't have any repercussions from that choice. Listening to Mr. Walker on this one could have led to some nasty drug/alcohol interactions. Glad to hear you lucked out this time, and hope you feel better!

Wow...
lol.gif

I hope you feel better soon!

Prednisone, symbicort, budesonide formoteral furnate dihydrate albuterol sulfate, Tylenol cold and flu, and two other bottles that I can't find because she threw the bottles away - I know it started with a "B" and was for coughing.

Plus some Johnny Walker, some Canadian Mist and a little bottle of Vodka (Svedka).

I've got so much energy right now my hands are shaking and my heart is pounding - it's like I drank a six pack of red bull and a pot of coffee at the same time. If I lived out I the country like I used to up in Alabama - I'd go outside right now and chop a load of firewood. This is intense.

The [censored] thing is that it's a chest cold and I can't have a cigarette but brother, right now I could smoke a cigarette ten feet long in one drag! OH GREAT BOGART, THE PATRON SAINT OF ALL SMOKERS AND SMOKER WANNABEES, GRANT ME THE POWER!!!!!

You know, medications have labels on them for a reason lol. Also, why do you have antibiotics lying around? You're supposed to take them all, not just until you feel better!

Yeah, I've heard that before and you're 100 percent correct. But you've got to admit, they sure do come in handy for days like today.

I just smoked two cigarettes - first smoke since lunch time - all is right with the world.

You know the really stupid thing about all this is when I couldn't breath this afternoon and thought I was going to die, I honest considered the fact that it might be a good time to stop smoking. I went almost 12 hours without single puff and didn't even want one. Now that I can breath again, first thing I think of is a cigarette.

I absolutely HATE going to the dr. I`ll use the shotgun approach when I get sick. I`ll take a dose of every medicine I have, and if that doesn`t work, then it`s to the dr I go.

Greetings brother, we're cut from the same cloth.

It's always a good time to stop smoking. I smoked 2.5 packs a day, but quit in 1979.

If I get an upper respiratory infection, I buy a pack of mentholated, smoke them, cough EVERYTHING up the next day and go back to not smoking.

Sounds to me like you had some hyper stimulants in there and your blood pressure is borderline stroke level honestly...

Bronchaid does that to me, high blood pressure, 103 fever, and literally can never cool off.

Get yourself a supply of clyndimycin... it will murder any.backteria in you'd body have you peeing orange for a week.

That same thought crossed my mind as well.

But hey... It sounds like you're making the most of your sickness, so enjoy

So far it's been a trip, (no pun intended)

I'm sitting in the dark so I don't have to see the cat we don't own in the living room anymore. But then maybe that's it. You really don't own a cat do you? In reality, the cat owns you. Hummmm.

My sweet, loving, adorable wife??? I wonder if she knows I don't have life insurance. Perhaps I should wake her up and let her know and see what she says.

Hello, It all sounds funny except the fact that sickness and pain are still involved. What kind/color of cat have you been seeing? SUGGESTION: DO NOT do anything like pick up an axe and chop wood like you said yesterday. While you're at it, steer clear of driving too. You might swerve to avoid another "cat". Kira

Notes to self.

1. I'm thankful that I'm not a member of the cancer stick club.
2. I'm thankful that I take care of my health and don't get sick.
3. I'm thankful that if I were to become ill, a combination of alcohol and old, leftover medications wouldn't be on my list of cures.

Now I think I'll go out for a jog.
