That's funny. Man, I've seen those 2-series on the road. Bada** cars! I bet they're a hoot to drive.

Speaking of tickets, I've been thinking about a RADAR detector for this car.

Before the "drive the speed limit and you wont get a ticket" Candidates for Driving Sainthood chime in, let me recommend the Valentine One with the optional Bluetooth module($450) or the Escort Passport Max 360($650). Both do a good job of filtering out spurious signals(collision avoidance/blind spot monitoring/etc.).
I'd run the Waze app on my phone as well. If you are really serious you also need a laser shifter(AKA jammer) like the Escort ShifterPro.
Car an Driver has good reviews here and here . Note that the V1 has been upgraded with the "Junk-K Fighter" since C & D last tested it- which is why I now recommend it

Man, it's gonna be a long rest of the week and weekend!

I'm like a kid the week before Christmas! Can't wait!

I got it!

Pretty tired right now - worked 'till 3 am today then had to get up early to go get the car and everything.

I want to do a little write-up about my first impressions of the car, but it will be tomorrow or the next day before I get to do that.

I will say one thing: I test-drove the car before signing the papers because I was buying sight-unseen, and, the first time the tachometer needle swung past 2000 RPM and the thing tried to take off like a rocketship, I thought, "wow, this car is a thoroughbred!" It really does feel like a horse, raring to go.

I've put ~ 100 miles on the car today and it's a total hoot to drive. Quite impossible to go slow in this thing!

More later...and I'll post some photos, although, if you want to see some pics that are much better than any I can take, just search "2016 WRX Dark Metallic Gray"

Bet the Miata handles better. I thought for sure Mazda would be offering the Miata with turbo by now. If they did, it would sell like hotcakes. Guess they're saving that option for later on, down the road. And I'm sure there are multiple aftermarket options available for both turbo and supercharged.

Thanks, Andrew. I took the car out on some curvy local backroads yesterday, just for fun, and to "help" the break-in process by varying speed & gear, and I wouldn't be honest if I said my palms weren't sweating a bit as I knifed the car into some of the tighter corners! Driving a brand-new car quickly is a bit nerve-wracking!

The same color as my FXT...nice!!!
Supposedly Mishimoto has a cold air intake for you guys that does not require a retune.
They were supposed to be working on tweaking it for the FXT, but I have not heard any updates on that lately.

As per the window sticker:

Parts content: 85% Japan, 0% USA, Canada.

Final assembly: Ota, Gunma, Japan.

Fine with me. I'd rather have a car assembled in Japan than here.

I had a 1990 Accord (one of the best-built vehicles in modern history) and it was a more solid car than my 2004 Accord that was assembled here in the USA.

This is the problem we are facing with large purchase. As much as we like to buy made in USA products, but if something made in first world countries are known to be better quality we choose that, because our money is more importance than job security of our fellow American ?

I did post few comments the last few years about vehicles made in Japan seem to be better than made in USA. I am not criticizing you at all about preferring Japanese made Subaru.
