Replacing harmonic balancer on 97 pathfinder

Hi again guys,

I'm doing the harmonic balancer on my 97 Pathfinder 3.3 v6 tomorrow. It's shot, making noise, and the rubber ring is protruding from the pulley... and it was professionally diagnosed. Is there any risk of messing up timing with this? timing belt etc is all okay, was done about 20k ago.

Oh yeah, and will the balancer not turn when removing the crank bolt so long as it's in gear and wheels on the ground?

No danger, nothing to do with the timing belt. Those harmonic balancers tend to fall apart when taking them off. You can usually knock that inner pulley off since they seperate from the rubber, and pry bar the rest of the pulley off. Do them quite a bit.

It is pretty straight forward, just push it on and tighten it up.
