Replacement Adjustable Main Jet for Craftsman/Briggs 7 horse??

Go hunting at your local small engine shop. Yours looks to be Tecumseh, they had adjustable main jets on a lot of stuff. I have found that there are a few different styles, short, long, and 2 different diameters. Find the right one for your unit and don't look back. Some of the chicom replacement carbs come with adjustable mains also. Toss a couple in on the wife's next jungle river order.

Yeah. The carbs are so cheap, it makes ya wonder why bother to clean/rebuild one.

But I'm old school, and have literally been rebuilding carbs for 60 years, and I guess I will continue.

Since it is such a pervasive and annoying problem of engines being set too lean at the factory, I would have thought an adjustable main jet for this one would be easy to find. Oh well, I will just drill this one out and move on.

As always, it will be pleasant to operate the engine once it gets enough fuel.

The "smoggers" just don't understand. An engine operated with a lean misfire, or with the choke left on halfway to make it run, create far more SMOG than an engine operating PROPERLY with the CORRECT amount of fuel.

Personally, I wouldn't want to be walking behind a mower running AVGas. Even the low lead stuff has a half a gram per gallon of tetraethel lead in it.
Well, I have been both flying and working on planes for exactly 52 years, and I survived!
