Some systems use different pumps, that shear the living heck out of most normal fluid. So unless it's very shear resistant ATF like ATF+4, some powersteering systems will not deal with a Dex III/VI fluid very well.
It took my gf's Beetle, 2 weeks to just destroy Valvoline Maxlife Dex/Merc, and when I put in Redline PSF the noise went away after about a week. The Redline PSF is very very shear resilient, and doesn't lose it's viscosity after being sheared, Redline also has a seperate ATF for +4 specified applications as well, rather than just their D4 or D6 fluids, it's called C+.
All psf use was done after complete system flushing on this Beetle.
