Replace brake pads?

Pads are at 5/32. I thought most states with safety inspection fail at 1/32 riveted and 2/32 for bonded pads.
I believe those limits are correct for PA.

Sell pads to a customer.

Keep an eye on them if they're mine.
This is my cousin's car, the same one that is awaiting a new catalytic converter. If I recommend brakes I will have to do them for free. ;)

I say marvel at the California goodness.
Those rotors are 18 years old!
How close is the backing plate to the gap between carrier and disc? You're fine if the backing plate makes full contact with the carrier. But I think you're getting close
About the same.

I would recommend a bicycle :)
Between fixing the catalytic converter for free and possibly this, I am inclined to agree!

In America, there is no such thing as a free lunch.

With limited use, assuming it doesn’t make noise, I’d just lube and let it be. Especially in your climate.

Wouldn't hurt to start shopping around and chuck the parts in a closet or cabinet for a rainy day.

I keep the RockAuto clearance sections bookmarked for my cars and check them once a week or so for any deals that pop up. You might be able to bundle in some other parts to help offset shipping.

Hit the clips with some brake cleaner and call it a day.

I would personally change them, but I have knee issues.. So if I went as far as to have removed the wheel, I'd be swapping the pads out.
