Or to tape up cuts, scrapes, and to use for a splint when you wreck your car from inadequate tire repairs!

I think it's great that there are those out there who get their money's worth out of their tires. No sense in getting another set until the ones you have are completely worn out. LOL.

I can't say I do it anymore but when I was a lot younger I didn't get new tires until at least one set of cord had worn all the way through. When the second ply was almost worn through I got new tires.

I never had a blow out and never had to change a tire on the side of the road either. Except once and that was a nail.

I've actually seen this done before with tractor tires. Looks like it works well enough.

Sorry guys, just been busy. I don't know much about the "story" behind the Liberator A/T other than it came into my friends shop (A Purcells) over in Nevada. He says the customer came in with that tire on the vehicle complaining of it bubbling through the patch and wanted a new tire. So I posted a pic of it on my FB page, and a friend of mine that worked at a Wal-Mart told me that what we are seeing is the patch put on over a plug that Wal-Mart will do, in their words, "Anything to save a buck". I don't know anymore than that, but I did know that people here would get a kick out of seeing it.

Never heard of that. Policy states anything within an inch of the sidewall on the tread area, which basically ends up being the last tread block and over is a toss. NON-REPAIRABLE. If his or any other WalMart is doing that it is against policy.

Like I said, brother, that is all I know. That is an actual tire that rolled into a Purcells, and where and when the patch job was done, I have no clue.
