Does anyplace besides UHaul rent cargo trailers? I need to start moving tools and boxes to Delaware from NY.

Pickup is open bed. 12 GVW trailer I own is flatbed.

Anyone near central NY want to rent me one for a few weeks?

It’s not uncommon for tool rental places to also rent trailers. The kind of places you rent scaffolding, lawn equipment, etc.

About six months ago, I rented a trailer by simply entering “trailer renters” in DuckDuckGo. The trailer renter had a private construction company and rented his trailer on the side. It was a three-day trip, putting about 1,000 miles on it. It went flawless and my vehicle insurance covered the needed insurance on the trailer.

Yeah those U-Haul trailers are not very big, I rented the largest one available and still wasn't big enough and had to make two 7 hr round trips even using my truck just to help a friend move, the lower height of the trailer kills it.

I would also consider renting a POD that would fit on my flatbed trailer.
Speaking of, I think U-Haul had those pods also. You fill it up and they ship it on their trucks for you. My kid did that several years ago when he had a long distance move.

The kind of trailer you're thinking about isn't common in the east, more so if he's not near a city.
These aren’t a thing there? What do landscapers use?

Think you may need to look at one way or round trip (local). If you can get from NY to DE and back quickly, the cost may be much less doing returning the trailer from where you rented it, rather than a way way dropping the trailer off in DE.

I have seen local trailers being rented on Craigslist, and at tool rental shops. Trailers are a hot commodity right now. Might be worth listing the items you are wanting to ship on uship.com, if someone has excess space, maybe a less hassle deal to be had.

But what is the scam? Stolen? I know a DE State Police captain who can check a VIN to be stolen!
The poster of advertisement does not own that trailer. They copied someone else advertisement. This is a very popular con. Items for cons like this are often trailers, gators, UTVs, ATVs, etc.

They want your info, want you to click on a link, western union money, who knows but one of those is their game.

I few things of note, picture shows lots of green leaves on trees, yet listing is in New York. No picture of plate, I could go on and on.

On FB there are literally tons of those types of ads listed, all the same vehicle but use the same pictures and description, also they list an email address because they don't use messenger or whatever other reason. The fake temporary tags have been posted like crazy too but evidently it's a booming business and people are paying lots of money for them.
