I have decided I need to remove the factory bed liner to check for rust, etc.

I removed the BackRack.

I lifted up the center at the back of the bed to tried to pull away the sides but it does not seem like the sides pull away enough to get it out.

The bed has caps. While they look nice they might be in the way. They look like they have a bunch of clips. PIA.

It's around 45F out. Maybe liner will be easier if I wait for a warmer day.

If I need to take off the bed rail caps are the clips reusable?

I would prefer to not take off the bed rail caps if I can avoid it.

What are bed caps?

Yes those bed rail covers have to come off. I had a buddy take his liner out if his Ford and he said he would come back and get it in a few days. A year later it was still sitting in my yard so I gave it away. It was cold then to and we couldn't get it to bend enough to come out from under the bed rail caps.

That's a summer project.
Like have it sit out in the sun enough so the heat makes it pliable kind of warm.
I had mine most of the way out when I did mine.
I wanted to see under it. It was fine.
However on mine, the paint is flaking/peeling where it is not covered by the liner on the lip of the bed, next to the tailgate.
I may sand that good, and spray that with some bedliner in the spring.

Yes I procrastinated.

Do a real search and you'll find YouTube videos and other info, it's out there.
I have watched some of getting liner out and some of getting the bed rail caps off. It seems in most of the posts I read that trying to get the bed rail caps off either snaps some of the bed rail posts or the clips are never tight again. And difficult to buy replacement clips

I took out some tie down brackets that will need to come out to pull the liner off. And it was 54F outside. But the liner was still not flexible enough to come out.

Maybe above 60F will be needed.
