I'm replacing the transmission on a 2003 Honda Accord V6 and have to drop the sub-frame and plan to leave the P/S rack connected to the rack. Well when I went to disconnect the steering shaft bolt in the cabin, there was a plastic cover that states to remove the steering wheel before removing the bolt that connects the steering shaft to the rack to avoid damaging the SRS.
I assume that if the wheel is locked and the key is out, there is no danger of damaging the clock spring, but I thought I would check in to see if I could be wrong.
