Relative performance of oils - ACEA/API/etc.

Cool toy but is that thing accurate? It lists VW 502 (2005) as having HTHS 3.5. That doesn't make sense to me.
 
I thought Mobil 1 0w40 which is on the 502 list and several others on there have HTHS greater than 3.5 (isn't Mobil 1 like 3.7 now?) I had always thought having HTHS > 3.5 was one of the core qualifications of being a vw approved oil. ?

Depends on the spec and the revision of the spec. Look at 505 or 507 for example. Must be >/= 3.5.

VW 502 must have HTHS 3.5 or higher.
 
Awesome graphical. I wonder how the enhanced propertices of LL oils translate from theory to practice. I mean, we've seen Euro oem oils fail.
