Regional Only multi-location gas station chains near you?

it might be different for other folks, but around me, none of the mega gasoline chains use top tier gas (unless you count Costco and one 7-11 franchisee that's near me)....

unless the chains aren't reporting that info to: http://www.toptiergas.com (or there is some other top tier gas finder)
Which chains do you have? Do you have BP?

I've seen a couple Sinclair pop up with their cute dinosaur logo. I buy 98% of my gasoline at the Wawa convenience store. I was there yesterday and they were getting a delivery. Just a shiny silver tanker truck filling up the tanks. No idea who makes the fuel. Could change weekly based on the cheapest price they can source.
I recall Sinclair from back in the day. They had an awesome exhibit at the 1964 World's Fair in Flushing Meadows, NY. There is still a very small refinery along I-80 in Wyoming. Strangley enough I saw a Sinclair station along US-322 in Milical Hill, NJ yesterday.

I remember Sinclair but there almost all gone - haven't seen one in ages. This is a list of all of them. It says there are still 2 left in SC. Both over towards Myrtle Beach. https://stations.sinclairoil.com/

Old local chains in my area of Pa. were Hess (now Speedway), Penn supreme (gone), Turkey Hill (still around) and Sunoco am/pm (gone).

Wawa, Sheetz and Rutters, arriving in that order over 25 years put the hurt on most of the others. Sheetz seemed to be the most militant by opening on top of others about 25 years ago. Sometimes getting questionable zoning variations for non buildable land.

There's the town of Sinclair, Wyoming built for the employees, next to the refinery. I wouldn't call it scenic...

Allsup's in New Mexico is a large but declining regional gas station chain.

Allsup's was the only game in many NM towns for decades. Allsup's never reinvested much into their properties. Now other players are moving into NM, and Allsup's has not much to offer other than locations.

I was a huge QT fan until last Tuesday 29JUL2025. In Amarillo, TX to buy a AC machine, and arrived a bit early. Stopped in QT for some food and fuel. Fuel stop went just fine. For the food, every drink was a "trick". Super high priced Gatorade, Coke Zero, etc. Had to buy two to get a lower price, and the per unit of the buy two was beyond exploitive. Hot sandwiches didn't have prices anywhere to be found, so I know that means exploitive prices. Went down the road to a Buc ees, drink prices half the prices, now buy two to get a lower price, simply no games at Buc ees, that QT appears to be playing full quart. Ended up buying a Arizona Ice tea at Buc ees for $1 USD.

QT is now off my "go to' list.

"Allsup's Convenience Stores, Inc., sometimes misspelled as Allsups, is a privately owned chain of convenience stores with over 400 locations, mostly in New Mexico, West Texas, and Oklahoma. It is a 24-hour chain selling fuel under the Shell, DK, Alon, ConocoPhillips, Exxon, Valero, and "Allsup's On the Go" brands. It also sells traditional convenience store items and prepared food items, and is particularly noted for their world famous burritos and chimichangas. The company's main competitors are Circle K, 7-Eleven, Stripes and Pik Quick."

"The original concept was established by Lonnie and Barbara Allsup in Roswell, New Mexico, in 1956, as Lonnie's Drive-In Grocery. Lonnie, a veteran of the United States Air Force who served in the Korean War, expanded the business into a small chain and sold it to 7-Eleven in 1963. With the earnings of that sale, the Allsup family relocated to Clovis, New Mexico, and began the Allsup's convenience store chain.

It may or may not be different for other franchises around my area, but the Spinx around here are generally Top Tier fuel. I know a half dozen tank drivers that have told me all about the fuel supply, rack loading, additives process, etc. at the nearby Spartanburg terminal, where just about everyone gets fuel for this region. Even QT, which is on the list, and marked on the pumps, gets additized at this terminal. Spinx gets spot market gas, which is usually wholesaled at a lower price, but uses detergent additiized fuel bound for Shell, BP, QT, Citgo, Exxon, and the few other Top Tier listed fuel stations in the area. Stewie is pretty shrewd and knows the draw of TT fuel, but doesn't want to pay for it per se. His fuel managers specify which spot fuels they are to get at the terminal to ensure they have TT level additives. Spinx is one of the larger companies that racks there so he gets accommodated. This is why most Spinx stations are filled at night, because the spot fuel isn't available until the end of the day when it can then go up for sale. There are dozens of tankers contracted for Spinx waiting for the moment when they get word the fuel is available and head for the loading racks. Pretty interesting set-up and why I have no issues with Spinx fuel.

In the Niagara region there are 12 stations under the name Gales. It was started back in 1967 by Bob Gale Sr, and then over the years passed down to Bob Gale Jr and then Jessica Gale Friesen ran the small empire since 2014. The Gale family just recently sold the entire empire this April but the new owners are still using the well known Gale name

Dont think there's any Sheetz in the Philly area. There's one on Rte. 40 in Cecil County MD. Wawa is everywhere in PA and NJ, Delaware, MD.
Royal Farms is popping up more and more but Wawa is easily the biggest of them all. They're in Florida, TN, etc ...
They still have stores without gas too
Royal Farms is newer, when they arrived their chicken was cheap. I believe it may have more than doubled in price and we haven’t been back after the novelty wore off.

Wawa is an institution as it “is” a local company that’s expanded. Seen them in FL and north Jersey.

Sinclair just popped up.

Wawa has the hoagie making down to a science, ie consistent no matter what store.

As far as gas goes I’d avoid all of them. There have been cases of cars ruined by them and who knows what the disposition was.

I could be wrong, but I think that could never happen at Costco. Simply put, a staggering amount of cars would be affected. Unlike if a Wawa had a problem.

Not 20 years ago but today. We stick with top tier branded gasoline. The Wawas and BJs are unbranded.

Yes, actually we have (2) new GoGas Stations South Carolina! Not only does this company sell Ethanol free it Promotes it! Has 93 octane Premium 100% Pure NON-Ethanol GAS!

The parent company is Quality Oil Company LLC based out of North Carolina but the gas stations go by ( 2) Names one is Quality Plus (QP) with stations located in mid to Western North Carolina and the 2nd gas stations named GOGAS with stations in the mid to Eastern North Carolina and I noticed 2 new stations across the South Carolina line Myrtle Beach area!

I see a new Station under that name GOGAS on hwy 544 Near Myrtle Beach SC and a new one coming soon in Little River SC.

I purchased Ethanol Free 93 Octane when in Maggie Valley NC from a (QP ) Quality Plus for my Harley and was impressed!

I'm a HUGE fan of any gas company that sells ethanol free gas!

Cool, I will need to look for these next time I am that way!

I'll throw a couple out that I know of. Maybe someone can fill in the details.

GATE seems to be a popular station around Jacksonville FL. There seems to be lots of locations, they are maybe the prominent station in JAX? I have stopped in at them a few times when I am there.

Holiday used to be popular in Minnesota. They seemed to be everywhere. I haven't been that way in a while - are they still around?
