Refilled the stash yesterday

Used the last 5 qts. of M1 from the stash yesterday. Went to NAPA and restocked the stash with 54 qts. of NAPA full synthetic, 2 cases of 5w-20 for the 2013 Dodge GC, 2 cases of 5w30 for the 2006 Chrysler T&C and 6 qts. 15w-50 for the generator and the lawn tractor. $2.99 a qt. My wife was looking at me with that "what in the world look". Coincidentally, she was there when I bought 13 cases of M1 at PepBoys some years ago.

Interestingly, on the cases it says, "engineered for NAPA by Valvoline".

Anyway, good enough.

OBTY:The store had a big stock of the oil. Cases and cases of it. All weights, from 0w-20 to 15w-50

i would also start hoarding Valvoline Maxlife 10w40 for my Peugeot and Valvoline VR1 20w50 fo my Capri but i don't have the space!

On the back of the bottle it says Developed by Valvoline. I picked up a case of the 5w30 today, and the bottles had the Dexos symbol.

The cases are 12 qts. That's 4 changes for the Dodge, 5 changes for the Chrysler. It will last about 5 years. I also have 34 qts. of BOGO Peak from dollar general I bought earlier. I'm good for now.

The 2013 GC really needs 5w-20?

I'd run the same 5w30 as the PT Cruiser, and make life a little simpler. Isn't 5w30 listed as being acceptable in the Owner's Manual?

It is the same set up as my 2011 T&C.

The 2013 grand caravan calls for 5w-20, so that's what I've been running. I've not had any issues. OCI is OLM, 10k or 1 year. I've been going by the OLM, it trips at around 9500 quite regularly. That Pentastar motor is just amazing. Doesn't burn any oil at all and the oil comes out looking good enough to run is a beater.

I still have 6 qts of the NAPA 5w30 synthetic from their spring sale. I'll probably get another case before the sale goes off at the end of the month.

Honestly, its easier and less of a head ache to just stock up on the synthetic Napa oil when its on sale. I kind of wished I did that. Instead I have a TON of rebate/sale oil, all different brands and weights in my garage. Would MUCH rather have one brand of 5W20, one of 5W30, etc.

I've slowly been coming to that realization as well, all things being equal there's a benefit to not having so many brands and grades around. I've even been considering going to 5w30 in my RAV4 from 5w20 since that's the only vehicle I have that uses that grade. Being in Phoenix there may even be a virtue going to the Xw30 flavor anyway. I'll still do the clearance oil thing tho.

$2.99 per quart for essentially Valvoline synthetic is not bad.

Not worth stocking up. I buy 1 years worth of motor oil tops. I will buy 20 quarts.

I stick to 5w20 and put it in everything in my signature.
