Most amount to no more than Snake-Oil.
If oil companies could reduce friction further than their oil formulations already do they would have done it already IMO.
Save your money.

Agree with StevieC on this one.
I don't know, I think they work. They just create hydrochloric acid in your crankcase which you may cause you much more grief than you wanted.

Search Lubro-Moly MoS2 additive, it has some good reports. Redline Break In Oil additive is nice for boosting ZDDP in older engines.

Schaeffer Moly #132 is a very good additive that has a good track record and not too expensive. Lubro-Moly at NAPA is another good one.

Had a 455 Buick years ago that had a worn front cover (where the oil pump is) that caused low oil pressure (IMHO a weak design)-might need one.

As for the original poster- I'd look into the root problem (could be excessive oil pump clearances as another poster suggested), or invest in an engine pre-oiler rather than try to band-aid the problem with additives.

I have used MoS2 additive and it seemed make my engine quieter at idle. I am now using Lubro Moly 10w40 with MoS2 in the oil. Very well respected German company

I'm currently using a oil that contains MONOLEC that seems to be working beyond my expectations.
I'm also using a gear oil that contains DUOLEC and it's very impressive also.
I also like Penetro and Micro Moly in the Schaeffers oils. I'm actually trying their 10w30 #703 as a MTF in my S2000. It is taking the Texas heat much better than the Honda MTF II.
I'm very happy that oil companies are inventing these additives for us.

I believe MoS2 is a friction modifier not an anti wear additive like ZDDP. I think the OP should use a high Moly oil like redline.

I believe MoS2 is a friction modifier not an anti wear additive like ZDDP. I think the OP should use a high Moly oil like redline.
This is from the Lubro Moly website. A little confusing which got me to call them several months back and actually ask about the product. I was told it is a friction modifier, anti wear additive, and extreme pressure additive. Now it is possible they have a little something extra other than moly in the mix? HTH
