My dad and I just have used a can of this stuff for a 20gal diesel tank on a tractor.
Tank was needing a clean out due to rust and so we used a short piece of chain and bolts and nuts to shake around the inside via strapped to a rear tractor tire on a jack stand.

Then we did what the instructions that are clearly explained on the can.

Anybody on here ever tried the stuff in any of your fuel tanks?

Red Kote stinks like heck. And looks like cranberry sauce. A sign of it fully dried is no odor anymore? Correct?

I use an Epoxy-based product for motorcycle fuel tanks. The "Aircraft"-type is often recommended but results are usually unsatisfactory ( the film doesn't adhere to the inside of the tank properly).

Cleaning with ball bearings and chain + agitation is pretty common. Works, or at least "can work".

As with many things, the prep is important. I like the sharper edges of nuts+bolts to knock the rust loose. The Eastwood tank sealers have worked well.

Used the stuff for years at our shop. You will always have a little smell to it, kinda like a chemically type smell. But with that said it shouldn't smell like you just poured it in. Unless you put way to much in and have a large thick pool of it. If you think its not dry you can stick it in front of a fan.

How much did you use? 1qt or 1 gal? if one gal how much and did you drain off the excess?

Ojust
