So I went to fill up the 318i today. small tank, maybe 14.5 gallons. I have a chip, so I take 91 octane. Sunoco 91 octane (since its 91, its cheaper than the other local stations' 93), fill-up @$3.619/gal.

The bill?

$47.90

Highest fuel bill for us ever.

What is your highest so far?

I am paying 3.73 for regular as of this morning and 4.28 for diesel. All my vehicles, just by sheer coincidence have about a 12 gallon tank.

My last fillup was about $65 as well - took about 16.7 gallons.

But my most expensive fillups were in Poland - around $80 was the norm back then, and that only got me about 15 gallons.

My highest was $50. I couldn't tell if the pump had a $50 limit at the time ..or I just happened to magically require exactly $50 worth of fuel. That was when it was much cheaper than it is now. Otherwise my fillups have progressed just like everyone else's. $32 for awhile ...$40 ..$44 ...$47. Soon $50 will be my routine.

As the price was jumping, it made saving fuel costly

It's almost better to have some kind of dynamic storage. If you conserve too long ...you can wipe out any pathetic real savings that you realized in economy.

Spent $73 to fill the wife's Mercedes today. Almost 19 gallons @3.87/gallon.

The Expedition we sold cost more to fill up, even at gal., because it had a 28 gallon tank.

A couple days ago, I had a pump auto-shut-off on me when filling my VW. $50 was the max. you could buy per debit purchase. Didn't quite fill the VW up.

High fuel prices are here to stay. I'm learning to adjust, even though it sucks.

I have to fill up above 1/4 tank otherwise I'll hit the $75 transaction limit. I ran down to just below 1/8 tank last fill up and it cost me $95 for 87 octane at $3.97 a gallon. I had to fill to $75 then reset the pump and put in another $20.

Filled our Subaru Legacy GT(turbo) with Mobil premium for $3.79/gallon & 14.3 gallons for around $53. First time breaking the $50 mark.

The shock was not new though as I remember filling a MB C220 tdi for approx $100 two years ago in Italy.

This is like declaring a summer movie a blockbuster b/c people spent more at the box office.

When in fact it was fewer heads paying $11/ticket.

Doesn't really count the matinees.

Dumb way to count it.

Back when unleaded was $3.31 I filled my 5 gallon can in addition to my car's tank; that was my most expensive fill yet.

If my truck's tank were about empty, it would cost me $85.00 to fill it at $3.75/gallon. For now I'm filling at half tank so the $40 hit doesn't feel so bad.

Takes me a little over $60 to fill the Volvo at $3.79 or so for regular. Glad I can use regular now.
