Looking if you guys on here could give me some Recommendations on annalists and tests or experience of which diff oil I should put in my 2002 awd/4hi/4lo durango with a 4.7l v8. It goes not pull and not interested in amsoil either. But all Recommendations at welcome. Thanks guys

75w90 and found out today that I need to add a bottle or so of the anti friction modifier

Obviously, if you're not interested in Amsoil, you're probably not into other premium-priced fluids, I presume.

I don't know what specs are listed in the manual, but being a 2002, I suspect it's Gl-5. In that case, any licensed product would do OK, and any that mees J2360 would be even better, of which there is a long list of those as well. See this thread:

I'd suspect that any decent brand will suffice; don't overthink it. Being in "Canada", I don't know how cold you get in your area; you might consider syns for temp reasons if you're in uber cold areas.

The shockproof gives you NO problems what so ever, even in your axles with Trac Loc diffs (or any other clutch plate type diff)??

Dave at RL has told me this stuff has some moly in it, which IS a NO NO for these types of diffs to function properly.

The trac-lok needs the ford labelled friction modifier when you use any other type of gear oil,red line basically already has it in,so I don't add any friction modifier when changing fluids.
And to answer your question I put 100000kms on that 3.90 gear set so far and I'm still burning out with both tires,so if it was going to cause an issue it would have long before now.
I am using it in my chevs diff as well and no issues. Both mustangs have it.
So nope, not a single solitary issue thus far
