Recommend Me a New Vacuum Cleaner

I have commercial carpet in my house, except for the tile and wood flooring.

I always buy a cheap upright vacuum. My last 3 have been Dirt Devils. I tend to get one about every 10 years. We vacuum around 1-2 times a week. I like bags, instead of canisters.

I went bagged when I bought a new one last year - read some reviews on bagless and needing to dump/clean them after 1-2 uses vs months on one bag. Which is more a PITA and causes more dust to be released? Bags are cheap. Clear, cyclone looking thingy's are marketing.

I bought a Panasonic in 1987 and has been great for 25 years. We spent $60 last year to repair it rather than buy a new vacuum, and I'm sure it'll give us another 10+ years of use.

I can't say whether their new vacuums are as well made, but it seems that anything I've owned that was a Panasonic has been a good product.

HA!

Ok, bought one. It's a Dyson DC40. $100 Target Gift Card to boot.

It's really suckin' the dirt out!
