Recent Experience At Discount Tire

Nope don't need any receipt as it's not that serious. I Never said you were lying - I just find it hard to believe that's all and I deal with them on a commercial basis and they would never do that for me and we spend a lot of money there. I could hardly see any damage in the photo.

Take No offense please.
In his defense, when they nicked up my brand new rims, I complained for a year and finally got them to comp the set of Conti DWS' that I had purchased from them in the first place.

I wonder if these are franchise businesses...

This is why I prefer local "mom & pops" shops when I can use them, but they are a dying breed. Luckily I have a local tire shop that still is and puts customers first; Harold's Tire. It has cars lined up in the lot every single day, all day. He's adding more bays to his 2nd location he's so busy; Been in business 43 years here. He still has time to come out and talk to you in the waiting room even though his hands an clothes are black from working in the shop with his employees. Ironically, DT just opened a shop about 5 miles away on the big shopping strip road in our town of 125,000 (Topeka KS), but this guy seems to be unaffected so far.

If any of you are ever traveling through here on I-70 and have a tire problem, don't go to WalMart, or Sam's, or DT; trust me and go to one of Harold's 2 shops and they'll take care of you: https://www.haroldstirellc.com/
They are. Back when I had my own business and I opened a wholesale account with Discount Tire Direct and asked if I could just get the wholesale price at the local store I was told essentially “the local store is actually your competition.”

That seems to be the case as I am researching - I just can't wait for a tire to be shipped to me when a customer needs it right away but for my own personal use and anyone willing to wait I think I'll check DTD. It seems, as a general observation of mine, that the quality of installation as well as prices have suffered at DT over the past few years. The pricing I can excuse because everything is more expensive now but the issues with bad mounting/damage to rims and bad balancing is not acceptable. The last 3 full sets of tires I purchased all had to go back for rebalancing as they were bad right from pulling out of the store. It's to the point now I have begun using a mom/pop shop nearby for all my mounts/rebalancing and TPMS installs and they are half the cost. I will continue to use DT where appropriate (certain tire needed or best price) but will be shopping around more whereas before all my business went there.
