Found out today that my 08 Saturn Aura has a recall for the transmission cable. In the bulletin, it says that a flyer will be mailed out to those who own a recalled car. However I bought my car from an small independent dealership/car lot and I am curious to know if a flyer will be sent to me. How long do I wait to see if I do get a flyer, and/or should I just call my local GM dealership? This is my first time owning a newer car, so I've never had to worry about issues like this. Thanks in advanced.

They get your information from the DMV records.
^ Hopefully thats the case but I have had differenet experiences. Five or six years ago i received a recall notice/card from Ford for a Crown Vic that I traded in years before. The card requested that I advise them if I sold the vehicle. I sent the card back. A year or so later I received a a different recall for the same car. Last year I received recall notice from Dodge for a Caravan I traded in a few years ago.

Pretty sad,get a recall for your Saturn,go to a Chevy dealer.Get a recall for a Pontiac,go to your Chevy dealer.Get a recall for a HUMMER,go to your Chevy dealer.(why then did anyone spend the extra and buy something else other than the cheapo Chevy?).Get a recall for a SAAB....go to h*ll. lol

Wouldn't using the park brake properly negate that problem before it happens?
