Rec 90 Non Ethanol in daily driver?

I doubt you would see any difference at all. In performance or mpg. I recently had a chance to fill up with non ethanol fuel and there was unnoticeable.

Depends on the car. Dad says it is a great benefit for his 2007 Pontiac G6 2.4L, but it made no difference in my Saturn ION or my Mitsubishi.

I put a little STP octane boost in my car to turn the 90 octane into 91 Octane. Later I skipped the octane boost and was fine anyway.

Keep in mind that IF the combustion chamber is plugged up with carbon, then the compression ratio might be higher - requiring a higher than normal octane rating for fuel.

Also, heavy carbon build-up on the back of valves absorbs the fuel being sprayed into the cylinder and this creates a condition where higher octane is needed.

Some folks are using preventive maintenance measures to clean-up the valves, pistons, and combustion chamber so they can keep running lower octane fuel.
