RATE your current motor oil

Rate the oil that you currently have in your car on a scale of 1-10. Also, is this the oil that you will continue using or did you just get it on sale. Heres mine:

Car: 2004 F-150 4.6L
Oil: QSUD Q Horsepower 10w-30
Rating: 10/10

Will continue using for the life of car. OCI's are 8K

9-10...Royal Purple 5w30.
Will start using Havoline in spring, summer and fall...with Pennzoil Plat in Dec, Jan and Feb OCI.
Nothing wrong with the purple...just want to save a little money for the increasing gas prices!

10/10 M1 AFE 0w30.

Best running oil I've ever used in the truck. Will continue to use it. This is my 2nd OCI with it.

I'm not going to speak for everybody else but my criteria are (in no particular order):

Noise, consumption over an OCI, cold start performance.

According to your criteria, observations of my cars:
Noise: same grades makes similar noise.
Consumption: same grades consumes similar amount.
Cold start: no cold start problem in So Cal.

When I started using xW20 instead of M1 0W40 in E430 3 years ago, the noise was reduced substantial and no consumption was noticed, the bonus was better MPG.

Considering I paid $11.00/gal for it I've got no complaints. Worked well all winter, even down to 0F.

The current fill's of Quaker State we have seem to perform just as well as any previous OCI of Pennzoi, Formula Shell, Valvoline, Castrol, National, etc.

Would anyone be using anything less than what they felt was a "10".If i didn't think i was using a "10" i would change brands ASAP or at least my next oc. What i think is my "10" may be others "8" or even "3".It's all a matter of personal opinion.

Will switch over to PYB during the summer. Lots of wheeling = shorter OCI's.
