Rams with 4.7

Daughters friend had one it had around 260000 kilometers on it when sold.
Constant exhaust manifold stud and leak issues and noisy lifters other than that it was alright no major issues.
This was on a 2004 crew cab also very underpowered .

I had one in a rental, but it was a LONG time ago. I recall being very underwhelmed by it.

However, I now have a NA 3.5 in an F150 and am very happy, though I am told it is a turd. I guess it depends on what you are looking for, HP or mileage?

We are talking about the old 4.7l AMC designed V8 - or is there a newer one?

I had one in a 2002 Grand Cherokee and had ZERO problems with it approaching 200K miles. Unfortunately the rest of the Jeep literally fell apart around it. It was the best part of the vehicle.

It did have some quirks, like the thermostat at the bottom rad hose outlet and an overly complicated hydraulic fan.

We ran one to 110k - no engine problems on 5W30 M1 - lost the rear end but that looked like oil break down …
Traded it bcs the front end (Ram) needed full rebuild …

A friend bought a 2003 Ram 1500 new. It had the 4.7 which did well over 13 years.

It was a bit stressed towing a 5th-wheel camper, so he replaced it with a new 2016 Ram with a 5.7.

As is normal for here, the 2003's rear wheel wells rusted badly after a few years.
