If you have some wood around, you might make new ones that are as high and wide as you need. Just make sure they will fit under. My older metal ramps wouldn't fit under newer cars. I made wood ones that would. Ramps that work with newer cars often do not lift things very high.

If you are going to have to buy wood, maybe you may as well buy ramps. Search here, and you will find many positive posts on the Rinos. also descriptions of home made ones. If recycled is important to you, as it should be to all of us, try the EZ-Rizer. Let us know how they work. Storage shouldn't be a big deal, wherever you have room. cold temperature shouldn't hurt them.

I like the rhino ramps. they are a little less steep which makes them easy to get up, and more importantly, in lower cars, lowers the chance of scraping the front on the ramp itself.
Plastic wont go bad in Toronto... Theyll hold a small truck or heavy car (thats all Ive used on them thus far).

I got some rhino ramps and they work great for what i need also i dont know about you but i dont trust anything i make enough to get under a car thats supported by them. Rhino ramps im sure however knows the risk if one person dies from using there product and there family sues. So i trust they make a nice strong ramp for their safety and for mine

I have a question about ramps. i want to know which are the best kind. currently i have wooden ramps that are long and wide. my father made these many, many years ago. they are starting to splinter.

what is the best product out there?

ok so do these rhino ramps crack??
there is a warning on them to check for cracks.
will temperature affect these no one is replying.
how do u get your car or truck off the ground safely?? i have a protege and malibu both 2000.are the 12000 rhinos easier to climb is the angle shorter?everyone post what you do and any safety tips we should all use.

Plastic does stiffen up and crack if mistreated when it is very cold. HDPE is less likely to crack in the cold than many other types of plastic. Even steel is more likely to crack in bitter cold. Plastic will also crack if misused at warmer temperatures. Steel is more likely to bend beyond its design stress. 12,000 pound ramps should hold up good to small cars. Each tire should be less than 10% of that.

Ramp safety? I try to line things up carefully. I put a chock where the rear wheel will hit it before I drive off the end of the ramp. I have driven off the end of the ramp anyhow damaging little except my peace of mind.

Dont get the black rhino ramps. They make 2 kinds i believe one like 2 tons for cars and a 3ton one for trucks. My 2 ton ones cracked. Its also very hard to get up on them, when i put them next to my wheels, and push the gas, it will usually shoot one of them 10 feet forward instead of staying in place and letting me roll up it.
