Looking to replace my summer tires for my work van. I carry about 2,000 lbs of cargo and have another set of wheels&tires for snow. These would just be for pavement/highway use. Im looking for quiet ride and longevity.

Factory size is LT225/75R16 which id like to stick to. Ive worn out some Michelin Agilis Cross Climate in about 60,000 miles. It looks like Michelin now calls the Agilis Cross Climate which i currently have the Cross Climate2.

Looking for something similar. The Michelins are spendy, wondering if ill be happy with something different. Was looking at Firestone Transforce as a possibility.

Open to any ideas and the collective experience of those here.

Michelin and their confusing naming schemes. The Cross Climate 2 is a north american designed and produced passenger car tire, inappropriate for your application.

The Agilis Cross Climate is a european designed and produced c-metric euro van tire I believe you are referencing...which actually carries a higher load rating than an equivalent LT-metric load range E tire. That michelin has a third steel belt, rated for 83 psi, etc...rated for 3195 pounds per tire...european commercial tire rated.

I recently purchased a bunch of the 225/75R16-C (121/120 R) tires for our camper. They are very much still available in the US and an excellent tire. My new ones come from their Poland factory.

Continental (Van Contact), Goodyear (Workhorse HT), and Blackhawk/Sailun, to name a few, also make tires appropriate for cargo van use in that size with the c-metric 121/120R rating.

You might be able to step down to an LT metric tire in the same size, if load index 115 is sufficient for your needs. The Michelin Agilis (non-directional) is a very respected (north american designed and produced) tire in that configuration and is 3PMS rated for better snow performance than the confusingly similarly named directional Agilis Cross Climate which is not.

I can do an LT tire for the weight. Looking seriously at Firestone Transforce HT3.

Anyone have any experience with them as compared to Michelin Agilis?

Tirerack reviews the transforce very well if I recall. Potentially more consistent reviews than the Michelins. I could debatably run LTs on my pickup as it’s 5300 lbs empty. The crossclimate agilis would be a top contender.

Here are some good name-brand tires in your size:
Toyo Celsius Cargo
Yokohama BluEarth Van All Season RY61
Vredestein Comtrac 2 All Season
Vredestein Comtrac Cargo All Season

For something cheaper, there is the Prinx Hifleet HL1

Unfortunately, the Conti Vanco all season tires are almost as expensive as the CrossClimates :sneaky:

I'm looking at Michelin Agillis Crossclimate on clearance for $200/tire

Or Firestone Transforce AT2 for $223/tire.

These are on tire rack so local prices may be better. LT load range E.

I want the longest lasting quietest tire for summer use. I have dedicated snow tires on their own wheels.

Anyone have experience with these?

The reviews are like most internet reviews some love them and get lots of quiet miles while others say they are worn out in 20k and trash.
