Had to change the fuel filters on Saturday, had been at zero for 2 days. Easy enough job, but I still have choice words for the imagineer that put the under hood fuel filter so far down and back, when there is plenty of room to have it up higher.

I'm guessing the engine filter mount is common with other cummins applications - fold forward hoods with much easier access.

I use lots of extensions, a 1/2" breaker bar, and a step stool (or a step that clips over the tire.) The socket is same size as my WD hitch bolts, so the entire setup lives in the truck and a spare set of filters in the camper.

I also extended my drain lines to help reduce splashing, aid in collection into a soup can, etc.

FWIW the chassis mount filter is a few dollars less if puchased in Mopar trim vs Fleetguard. As far as I can tell, Parker-Racor makes all three labels (PR, Mopar, and Fleetguard) under contract for Mopar.

You are correct that Parker-Racor does build the filters, but as an employee of a Case New Holland dealer I get filters at a much better price than anyone else.

Parker makes the Baldwin/Hastings as well. Its just different paint. They are or were dirt cheap on rock auto, even for us Canadians.

The Fleetguard filter is made in house! FS53000 is made right here in Tennessee at our Cookeville site. It's a NanoNet filter, best of the best.

What does that FS20089 cross over from on the MOPAR side? I have never seen that part number before.

Also, which CNH dealer group are you affiliated with if you don't mind me asking? We just had some CNH folks from Canada down here last week for a tour and training.
