Which is better to raise a A body vehicle an inch? Air bags or Air shocks? Not looking to change springs which are new as car curently sits level but I want a higher stance over factory height.
GM A bodyA body what? Mopar? GM? Dart, Valiant, gs400?
Just bought spacer disc from Global West which mount under spring and new shocks (Bilstein) for front. Wanting to make whole car 1" higher than stock. Already installed new springs.Air shocks would probably be your simplest option. However, they will make the ride harsher vs the stock set up. Also pay close attention to the shock mounts on the frame. If the frame is rusted in that area or if the shock mounts do not look in good shape, air shocks can damage them in short order. One other consideration.....when you raise the rear you will also put stress on the front end steering components because of the increased angle of attack on the suspension components.....particularly A arm bushings and tie rod ends. There is no free lunch to to changing chassis geometry at one end of the vehicle and not accounting for those changes at the other end.
I agree. I wouldn't want to change a thing but then again, I don't like the jacked up rear end look.Man, That car's stance looks perfect!
Is has dropped since that pick after new spring install. 2nd set and nothing stays up. That's why I was considering bottom spring spacers up front and maybe air shocks for the rear.Man, That car's stance looks perfect!
I used hard rubber spacers that I made up. anyway, from my experience, if you use 1" thick spacer, you will raise the car up by twice that. So I would go 1/2" thick to raise 1" .Is has dropped since that pick after new spring install. 2nd set and nothing stays up. That's why I was considering bottom spring spacers up front and maybe air shocks for the rear.
Wonder if there will be any issues that raising the front with 1" spacers may cause?
