RainX Anti-fog

Was at Walmart today and noticed, anti-fog spray. Since my AC is shot, windshield fogs quite often. I picked up the spray but noticed that it contains Isopropyl alcohol.

I would like to confirm if it is really Isopropyl alcohol only or there is something not listed on the bottle. I could just use alcohol off the shelf, instead of this, a lot cheaper.

I believe so as well. IPO is great at drying to a streak free shine. I use it 50/50 on my windows and have had zero fogging/streaking issues. On another post I also mentioned ZEP ammonia free is a very good cleaner

So 50% Isopropyl alcohol should do just as good job as Rain-X anti-fog?
Do you mean this one? I use Invisible Glass cleaner. Works good, esp with tree sap.

Does anyone know if IPO is just a carrier fluid, what is the active ingredient? The reason I ask, my eyeglasses fog a LOT in winter and it is super annoying. If I know the 'active ingredient' could check the toxicity profile and decide if I can spray a bit on eyeglasses inside as well.

I used the rain-x anti-fog years ago. there is something else in it, just like the normal rain-x repellent. It works, but IME if it gets overwhelmed it doesn't recover without reapplying. You also have to wipe off the excess with another rag or you will get the classic rain-x haze on the inside as well.

It could, I have used it for most of my glass applications (sunglasses, windows, cars etc.) and haven't had issues with fogging. Not sure entirely if it is the IPA that did it or just keeping the glass clean that helped.

IPA does nothing for fog. We use IPA to clean aircraft windows. Works well to clean, but does nothing to repel anything. However, the RainX Anti fog is another animal entirely. Probably contains some form of soap. Works fairly well when applied properly, and regularly. Remember, it's like soap, so it will leave a bit of a soapy-like-film if not buffed out fully.
