We use 50-50 isopropyl alcohol/water to clean glass aircraft windshields. It works wonderfully to clean and remove bugs.
It also works well to clean plastic aircraft windows. However, high end aircraft plastic window specific products (such as clearview) contain a touch of carnauba wax and leave an optically better finish on slightly scratched plastics due to the wax.
