Raid 5 for Unifi UNVR

I added 2 additional 8TB hard drives to my UNVR so a total of 4. And 32 TB. The UNVR configured it to RAID 5:and it literally took 4 solid days for the storage expansion to finish. I had about 8 TB of recorded video. The only other options are RAID 10 or "hot spare". With four 8 TB hard drives RAID 5 gives me 24 TB usable. And any one drive can fail. RAID 10 would give me better performance which I am not sure I need. But RAID 10 would only give me 16 TB usable. With RAID 10 half the drives can fail but they both cannot be from the same RAID 1 pair.

i wouldn’t worry about performance. Raid 5 would be my choice.

Yeah, just use RAID 5, you'll get more storage and performance will not be a problem.
