Racing sim wheels on a budget

We are looking to upgrade from the Logitech G920 to maybe even the G-Pro. The 920 at it's price point is very good, but looking for more precision, this is for X-Box and PC.

Budget is under $1K, more in the sub-$800 category. My concerns are if thr G-Pro is around $7-800, then it opens the doors for an even better wheel for a little more.

If anyone here has the Pro, is it a substantial upgrade from the G920 or does it still leave alot to be desired?

The kids mainly mess with Forza and some other games but not iRacing at the moment.

All thoughts appreciated.

I’m happy with my G29 as well. Good enough for some Project Cars 2 racing. The pedals, specifically the brake pedal, leaves a lot to be desired, but the wheel itself is good.

There is no point for me for the expensive setups, if I’m going to spend that kind of coin, may as well get a beater Miata and race for real. Nothing beats the real thing.

I dislike the brake pedal also. It is way too stiff, stiffer than a lot of actual cars. I know there is a mod to fix it, but I haven't had the time to really look into it.
