November 2018 I let my wife buy me a quickjack 5000 for Xmas. Worked well enough for a few years. Used it, maybe, 50 times for serious hobbyist type use-- their very typical clientele.

One side started not going down all the way as quickly as the other. For a while I could clamp the down button on the pendant and it would eventually "settle" but after that, it started getting caught under the rocker panel of whatever I was working on. I had to pry it out and collapse it with a ratchet strap. By October 2022 I'd had enough of the struggling.

Well, nuts, you'd say, it only had a one year warranty, having bought it through Costco. But Maine has a 4 year implied warranty law which I figured, I'd try out. Took their form letter, edited it for ~5 minutes with my details, and mailed off copies to Costco and Bendpak. Costco blew me off but Quickjack got back to me via email, inviting me to call the engineer/ product specialist and someone else (executive?) by teleconference!

We hashed out that it was the frame at fault and not the power head. He had me switch hoses around. He geeked out over the hydraulic divider in the power unit that levels the two units. He mentioned that you do NOT really need the 40-50 psi air in the cylinders as their literature states. I described how I could jump on the partially collapsed unit and see a rattle in the connections between hydraulic cylinder and frame-- showing that it's not a hydraulic problem but rather something in one or more of the hinge points. These cannot be disassembled-- they're welded together. I may cut my frame apart for an autopsy. They decided they'd send me two refurbished frames!

In their initial email contact with me they mentioned they were happy to help but wished I hadn't gotten the law involved, LOL. I can't say for sure if it's because I live in a consumer-friendly state or if it's because they're legitimately nice guys but I'll give them the benefit of the doubt. I do like the product and would recommend it, as well.

It took a little reminding on my part, they were probably busy over the holidays, but they shipped the frames out, gave me the fedex tracking number, and, well, seeing is believing. They're here!
