Quick headlight restoration?

Toothpaste, WD40, DEET - all will do the same thing. Looks good for a couple weeks.

If you want it to last all you have to do is wet sand with successively finer sandpaper down to anywhere from 2000 - 3500 grit as the final depending on how great you want it, and spray paint it with a clear coat.

The "kits" are a waste of money IMHO

I just used Magic Eraser last weekend and it worked as well as any $35.00 kit that I've used before. It's quick, easy and cheap. Put some quick wax on them when done and I'll see how long it lasts. If I have to do them every few months, so be it. I highly recommend it.
Do you use Magic Eraser dry or wet on the headlights ?

I also tried the Mothers Mag polish. I was surprised at how well it worked with my old man effort Did both our cars in about 15 minutes. If I had used a buffer I think it would have worked great.

I use TURTLE WAX Performance Plus for headlights after the Mothers Mag polish . Usually a few applications . Redo every 3 > 4 months .

2000 grit sandpaper followed by plastx will get it clear. I used wax (for automotive paint) to try to keep mine clear, we'll see if it works.

Quick and dirty use a high cut compound either by hand or with drill attachment followed by a polish and then a paste wax

Heavy yellow oxidation wet sand with 800-1500-3000-5000 then compound-polish-wax.
