Question RE: Fram Extended Guard

The Fram Extended Guard is more advanced than the Extra Guard filter.

The Extended Guard is a sort of precursor to the Fram Ultra. The extended Guard has been discontinued.

What do you think of the Extended Guard's capabilities? I am asking this in a separate thread as some people seem to think it is the same as the Extra Guard, which it is not.

It was spelled Fram Xtended guard. It was very similar to Ultra except it media was 97% efficient to the Ultras 99% and rated for 10,000 miles to the Ultras 15,000.

Obviously it's an amazing synthetic mediation filter with high efficiency and capacity it's a great filter. You can see some information here.

Yes great filters if you still find one around somewhere. I think part of the reason the name was changed to Ultra when they updated it was that it was too close to Extra Guard which as you noted confuses some people.
