Good day folks. Trying to remove top of my MightyVac fluid extractor. I see they use Phillips head screws but screws won’t loosen. Am I missing something? Thank You for all help and advice.
Just looked at mine. If it's the same model, I have nuts on the bottom off the Phillips head screws. Try getting a socket on them to help get them off. Might be a nylon insert nut, or Loctite. Should come off.

You may need to use needle-nose pliers as shown in the video below around the 1 minute mark.Just looked at mine. It’s a MV 7201 and whatever they are they are right up against body of the reservoir.

Well the Mighty Vac I could only remove 3 if the screws. They butted up other three right against rib on cylinder. Gave it to friend. Probably grab this one tomorrow looks better made.

Headed to Harbor Freight in bit. We have one at work; I’ve never used it but co workers say it works amazing. My friend just bought the HF one and likes it.
Why does one need to get the top off the Mityvac?
But you can pump out the reservoir?Simply put: to drain or empty the reservoir.

I gave away my MityVac because it cannot be drained completely and leaks out of the bottom.
I bought the 10.5 liter EKW. It is far superior to the MityVac. No leaks due to the design.
Robust construction, big time suction. It will suck 7 liters out of a Mercedes OM602 in no time.

You can empty the collected fluid content by either removing the rubber expansion plug stopper or reversing the black directional toggle plunger and pumping out the old fluid in the dispenser mode. Go to the 14 minute, 20 second mark in the video below. But you can pump out the reservoir?
Doubt it
