would XD-3 10w -30 be good for use in a mower ? don't know exact details about the engine, but it's likely 5 or 6 hp, and a tecumseh brand. i'm curious, since it's a diesel rated oil. thank you.
Anything that is diesel-rated motor oil is good for air-cooled engines such as B&S and Tecumseh.
I'm using 15W40 diesel oil ; in my 5.5hp B&S (I have 3: a mower, a 3.5hp tiller and a pressure washer)as for my Honda motored pressure washer, I'm using ordinary automotive grade motor oil (10W30 supertech).

I'd be tempted by the XD3 15W40 too (look at walmart) but I bet the 10w30 will work nicely.
Overhead valve, use 10w30, flathead use 15w40. Diesel engine oil have a better ability to deal with heat, acid & pressure before breakdown than a conventional gasoline engine oil.
