Question for C4 Corvette affectionados

A standard LT1 car can be modified to outrun a LT4 car. I never saw what the hoopla was about the LT4? You can likely buy some AFR heads, Edelbrock RPM intake, Camshaft, 1.6 Rockers, & Injectors for much less than the price difference

I wasn't referring to it being Bolt Action, The ZF S6-40 is alright 'til you need parts & complete units are quite expensive. The 4L60E works pretty well & can be built to handle roughly 500 RWHP cheaper than a replacement S6-40.

I am a Corvette Guru (own 3 now and one is an LT1 94) and that car should bring around 12k tops and that is because it is an LT4. An LT1 similar car would bring about 10k. Lower mile cars and fully optioned and with rare colors bring the bigger bucks. Collectors Edition was not a special car at all. They sold more of them then some of the other colors. Only the Grand Sport was a truly limited edition and will bring a much higher price. C4 prices are just starting to trend up but are still at a low and HUGE bang for the buck price.

Why would anyone pay over $20k for a non ZR1 C4 when you can get C5 and C6 for same $$$$?

Preference. Some people prefer a C4. I have a C4 and 2 C6's.....the C6 is the better car but for fun - the C4 is my choice because it still feels raw like a sportscar should.

C6z feels plenty raw, and it's still flexible and bendy over bumps to remind you that its primitive.
